An artist can paint a tree, and however much the image is affected by the singular vision of the painter, unless that tree stands in your front window, it is hard to argue that the image is inaccurate. Not so with portraits, which are rightly considered in the art community to be a major challenge. After all, while one hardly is looking to duplicate a digital camera, it helps if the finished painting actually looks like the subject! Cynthia's passion for oil portraiture has fired her remarkable ability to capture the spirit of her subjects in this demanding medium.
